Java and Adobe Paks for XP 32bit Empty Java and Adobe Paks for XP 32bit

Butting my head against these two Paks with a couple XP machines I have been testing. I don't have too many XP machine left in my org so it isn't huge, but still curious.

Adobe X:

When I apply settings to these machines, such as disabling checking for updates, then check the preferences cp all I see is the frame of the cp, not the various options.

Java 6.x or 7.x:

Nothing seems to apply at all if I Java Pak for XP, so I tried applying the Java Pak for Windows 7 and still nothing.

Flash 32bit Pak seems to work.

I'm on build 537

As far as I can tell, everything looks hunky dory with the Paks I have deployed to Windows 7 machines

Thanks in advance

Michael

Java and Adobe Paks for XP 32bit Empty Ensure the machine is in a licensed OU

For the Java Pak for XP..Should at least work For Java 6.

The Adobe problem, I dont really follow.

Since this problem is more about your world working or not working as opposed to the pak itself, please run PPLOGS.exe and send the ZIP file to support@policypak.com. Please attach also some screenshots of the Adobe issue.

Thanks.

I'll shoot that over in a bit. I'm going to check something regarding the Acrobat config first.

I am pretty sure I licensed the OU where the XP computers are currently located. I'll check.

Just as an update for others who might stumble on this thread, some policy settings take effect on my old XP machines and other do not. I'm going to create a new 'clean' XP VM and play around a bit. I suspect after reading a bit more that I may have some tattooing from older GPOs that were intended to accomplish in a hamfisted way what I am now trying to use PolicyPak to do and the tattooed preferences are interfering.

That said, for the most part everything I have tested on my Windows 7 64bit systems appears to work (computer level). Now to see what I can do at the user level.

Yes. Thanks for the update.

We're also going to internally re-spot check the Java pak for XP and see what we can come up with.

Thanks.. I'll close this thread for now.
