Outlook 2013 - What's going on? Empty Outlook 2013 - What's going on?

Post  bwelshon Sun Mar 02, 2014 12:50 pm

I have settings within a PP Outlook 2013 that are not being applied. I first created the GPO with the Outlook settings in the Computer section. They were not being applied properly so I recreated with the settings in the User section, thinking that might be the issue, but no go. Here are the results.

GPO name: BW-PPOutlook2013
User Configuration Settings below

disable hardware graphics - enabled
empty deleted items when exiting - enabled
run auto archive - disabled
outlook default program - enabled
office theme - dark gray

I login as "testuser3" and with gpresult confirm the GPO is being applied. When I launch Outlook here is what I get.

disable hardware graphics is checked - OK
empty deleted items when exiting is not checked - DID NOT EXECUTE SETTING
run auto archive is not checked - OK
outlook default program is checked - OK
office theme still set at White - DID NOT EXECUTE SETTING

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just to add on to this post, I also created an IE9 Computer Settings GPO that sets the home page to a particular website. This GPO too is not working.

I confirm that my PPIE9 GPO is processed when I login to the computer, but my home page displayed is msn.com, not the company home page that I had set.

I'm not sure what's going on here, when I edit this GPO everything looks fine.

Please confirm if IE9 issue is on same computer where settings are not getting delivered for Pak "Microsoft Outlook 2013 for Windows 7 and Later".

Send us below information to further isolate the issue...

- Operating system running on target machine?
- What is bit version of Outlook 2013 on target computer?
- Compiled version of the Pak? See this screenshot to get that info: http://screencast.com/t/TsgT820nrDiV

Also, send us the "pplogs.zip" after running PPLOGS at command prompt from the computer where you are not seeing these settings as expected.

OK, I must have been sleeping. It would help if I would have installed the Client Side Extensions on the workstation first. I did that and then my Outlook GPO and IE9 GPO did execute properly, with one exception.

I specified a Dark Gray Office Theme in my Outlook GPO, but when logging in and opening Outlook I get the White theme.

Here are the versions.
windows 7 professional sp1
microsoft outlook 2013 (15.0.4535.1006) MSO (15.0.4535.1507) 32-bit
ie9 vers 9.0.8112.16421
outlook gpo compiled vers 3.9.603.1
ie9 gpo compiled vers 3.9.603.1

I will send the logs.

Thanks

This is a good news Smile

It appears to be a slight issue with the pre-configured Pak for "Outlook 2013" and that is ONLY with the Theme selection option.

I will get back to you after further testing at my end.

The issue has been identified and corrected in the latest Pak. New updated Pak is pushed on live folder and you will be notified by email once that available to download.

Thank you for your time.
